Mother's Day Baby Dedications

While the dedication of a baby/child is not one of the official ordinances of the church, it is a practice that we see examples of scripture (1 Samuel 1:11, Luke 2:22). Even our Lord Jesus was dedicated as a child! At Redemption Spokane we do not practice infant baptism, but we do celebrate their birth with their parents by inviting parents to bring their little ones (regardless of age, if they have never been dedicated before) up on stage to introduce them to the church family.

Dedication is an opportunity for parents to publicly pledge to raise their children in a God-honoring way (Proverbs 22:6) and for the church family to pledge to support them in the work of raising children (Galatians 6:2).

On Sunday, May 14th, each family will introduce themselves and read a a scripture that the Lord has given them to be a prayer of blessing, or vision for God's future work in the life of their child. We pray with them as they dedicate their children to the Lord and dedicate themselves to raising their children according to God's word.

Good Friday Service

"Tenebrae" is Latin for "darkness" and nothing could describe Good Friday better than "darkness." It is the day that the Son of God was murdered, but according to the prophet Isaiah, it was the will of God to crush him. Join us on Good Friday as we remember the sacrifice made for our redemption.  Since the service will be darker than a typical Sunday service, there will be child care available.
